I almost let fear rob me of purpose. twice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About a year ago, my mentor called me to speak to a group of brilliant students at Ashesi University on leadership. It should have been an exciting moment, but I was gripped with fear. That familiar voice in my head whispered, \u201cAre you sure you’re the right person for this?\u201d<\/em> I felt inadequate and unsure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But I showed up anyway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And to my surprise, it turned out to be one of the most fulfilling moments of my life. Not because I gave a flawless speech or used the most eloquent words, but because of the feedback I received. It was clear that something I shared made a real impact. I left the room encouraged, knowing I had made a difference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One year later, the phone rang again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This time, it was a TEDx invitation. A bigger platform. A bigger opportunity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And I said no.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why? Because the same fear came knocking. The same whisper returned. telling me I wasn\u2019t good enough. And this time, I listened. I gave in. I let myself down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But in that disappointment, I learned something I will carry with me for the rest of my life. Maybe it\u2019s something you need to hear too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Imposter Syndrome Affects Everyone<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It doesn\u2019t matter how gifted, qualified, or experienced you are. That voice of doubt has a way of creeping in, especially when something meaningful is on the horizon. Even the most talented people wrestle with the thought that they are not enough.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s a lie. But it\u2019s a loud one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Self-Belief Is a Spiritual Discipline<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s not just about confidence. It\u2019s about choosing every day to believe what is true about yourself. especially when you don\u2019t feel it. You have to speak life over yourself. You have to surround yourself with people who remind you of who you are, even when you forget. A true cheerleader in your corner is a blessing. If you have one, thank God for them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. You Don\u2019t Need Permission to Use Your Gift<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fear will come. Doubt will come. But so will opportunity. And when that moment comes, you\u2019ll have to choose: will you shrink, or will you shine?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Your gift wasn\u2019t meant to sit on a shelf. You were designed to make a difference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. Your Voice Matters<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

What you carry is unique. Your story has weight. Your journey is not random; it is deeply connected to your purpose. God is not asking for perfection. He is asking for obedience. He is asking you to show up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You don\u2019t have to be perfect to be powerful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, here\u2019s my reminder to you and yes, to myself too:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The world needs your gift.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Don\u2019t hold back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Be bold.
Speak up.
Let it be heard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Your light was meant to shine.<\/p>\n\n\n
